Every year, Sri Lanka’s wild elephants gather along the banks of the historic Minneriya, Kaudulla, and Kalawewa reservoirs to find water and the fresh, new flushes of grass. The largest congregation of Asian elephants in the world, “The Gathering of Giants,” is a spectacular phenomenon where nature and history collide, offering guests the breathtaking sight of at least 80 elephants in a single glance. We invite you to witness the wonder with Santani as an exclusive seasonal offering from July to November. Designed as an ethically conscious and enriching wildlife encounter for our guests, this journey bridges the serenity of the resort with the raw majesty of the island’s wilderness.
All-day excursion, with a 3-hour game drive. Guests typically leave Santani at 9:00 a.m. and return by 8:00 p.m.
Inclusions: A picnic lunch curated by Santani.
Attire: Wear comfortable clothing in neutral colours, with a shawl or light jacket in case of cooler weather. We highly recommend bringing a brimmed hat, sunglasses, and preferred sun protection to ensure your comfort during the midday sun.
